So - day 6 of quitting. I'm 28 and started when I was 12. Really suprised that so far it hasn't been too bad at all. Not horrible like I thought it would be! I know this is stupid, but my biggest problem right now is becoming a non-smoker! I've smoked for so long that it's like it's a part of who I am. I don't want to quit - but I don't want cancer - only reason I'm quitting. So - I need to change my thinking - start thinking like a non-smoker :) Congrats to everyone!!!!

I'm 33 years old and I'm writing this on the morning of day 5, "cold turkey". I started smoking when I was 15, ironically AFTER my Dad died of cancer, a few weeks shy of his 51st birthday. I've made many attempts in the past and they have all taught me a little bit more about myself and the nature of my habit/addiction. So many friends lately are stopping AND just recently I finally developed "the morning cough". FUCK THAT, I sound just like my Dad used to.
