Conscious Effort To Protect Kids From Smoking

Recent efforts to protect children from the harmful effects of tobacco were made at the St. James’s Park in Newcastle, where more than 80 delegates from all over the region, comprising of tobacco experts participated to take note of the harmful effects of smoking. They suggested measures to check the harmful effects of tobacco on children.

This event commemorated the regional launch of the Government’s National Tobacco Strategy consultation. The members were informed about the nationwide public opinion.
Highlights of Public Opinion

It is quite obvious citizens and professionals are concerned about the growing incidence of smoking among children. They felt much needed to be done to ensure that children smoked less. Selling of tobacco products had to be regulated. Even too much advertising of tobacco products was not good. Children were more vulnerable to such advertisements.
