Smoking is considered to be injurious to health and much focus is given to kicking the habit. Anti-smoking campaigns are held and several products appear in the market, which will prove to be substitutes to smoking. Of course, some products, the smoker has to be wary of, but other solutions he or she may find quite convenient to adopt. Let us have a look at some of the products, which can help you to reduce smoking.
Quit Smoking Aids:
- One can try out the Nicotine Replacement Drink. It is for those who for example cannot perhaps smoke in a plane or in a bar, but need a nicotine fix. It is a refreshing drink of nicotine and contains lemon flavored water. It is considered to be healthier than smoking and suits passive smokers, who need not inhale smoke. FDA is of course investigating it. It is also not recommended for people below 18.
- Vaccines are available, which will prevent nicotine from entering the brain and help in preventing the addictive sensation felt by smokers. They provide immunity against nicotine.
- There are 24- hour web based sites to help smokers get rid of their smoking habit. They will provide necessary advice through counsellors.
- Stop smoking creams made of herbs, which help with stress and also contain nicotine cravings.
- Smokeless tobacco products in the form of snuffs, Snus, Spit or chewing tobbaco and Lozenges can be aids to help reduce smoking. They are also a better alternative to smoking and are not a hindrance to passive smokers.
- Injections of drugs is another way out to quit smoking, although it is considered to be dangerous as there are many side effects such as palpitations, hallucinations etc.
Quite a number of smokers are keen on giving up smoking. Of course, with public ban of smoking, many of them find it difficult to smoke. Perhaps, other alternatives would help solve their problems, although they need to see their suitability.
