Many have the wrong idea that cigar smoking is ‘safer’ than cigarette smoking. However, this is not true at all. The only difference between the two is that there is less number of diseases associated with it than cigarette smoking. Cigar is smoked in a different way and so less smoke gets inside our bodies.
Health Hazards Of Cigar Smoking
Here are some health hazards that cigar smoking will lead to:
- Cancer: Smoking increases the risk of most cancers mainly — Oral cancer, Esophageal cancer, Lung cancer, Pancreatic cancer, Bladder cancer and Cervical cancer. Studies are going on to find out how much smoking is related to cervical cancer. Cigar smoking even ups the risk of breast cancer.
- Emphysema: Smoking is the most common cause behind this lung disease which damages the tiny air sacs in the lungs. It is a slow killer and a person will not even be aware of living with it. Quitting smoke will make some improvements in it.
- Heart Disease: It is nothing new that smoking will invariably make your heart more prone to coronary diseases.
- Erectile Dysfunction: Cigar smoking is a significant risk factor behind erectile dysfunction. Passive smoking will also up its risk.
Men often have this idea that cigar smoking will make them look more sophisticated. However, this superficial glamor is not an intensive enough to go ahead with cigar smoking. A person who has the strength in him to be able to stay away from smoking has the guts to be different and stand out. It is easy to follow the crowd but to be able to differ is showing some real guts.
