Smoking Can Cause Rectal Cancer

The association between Colon Cancer and Smoking is well known.Now,Research reports relation between Smoking and Rectal Cancer too.An important observation about the findings is that the rate of risks associated with this cancer is gender based.This article tries to gain further insight.

About Rectal Cancer: The Esophagus, Stomach, and The Small and Large Intestines form the part of Human Digestive System.The Large Intestine’s first 6 feet form the section Colon associated with the Colon Cancer.The remaining 6 inches are called the Rectum and Anus (The Green Section in the Diagram) of the body.When harmful cells attack the tissues of the rectum,a person develops Rectal Cancer.Symptoms include blood in the stools,abdominal discomfort,constipation,fatigue unexplainable weight loss and change in appetite.The severity enhances with the passage of the cancer from one stage to another.In higher stages,the harmful cells reach other organs of the body through the blood and spread the disease.Unfortunately,this cancer has chances of recurring after treatment too.
