Statutory warnings on cigarette packs should never be taken for granted. Smoking will kill you gradually and over many years. Parents can expose their kids to risk of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome), respiratory illnesses, mental and behavioral difficulties.
Have you ever thought of the contents in cigarette? It contains poisonous gases, also known as tar in other words. The harmful chemicals present in it are arsenic, benzene, carbon monoxide, phenol, cyanide, cadmium, lead, methanol, nitrogen oxide, acetone and nicotine.
Smokers will experience coughing, phlegm formation, shortness of breath, wheezing and many more. Continuous smoking leads to yellowing of teeth, tooth decay and bad breath. Effects even include mouth ulcers, gum bleeding, heartburn and stomach ulcers.
The tobacco smoke can lead to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This is a host for many dreadful diseases like emphysema and asthmatic bronchitis. Smoking also causes effect on bones, eyes, stomach, skin and hampers reproductive ability.
The chemicals in the cigarette smoke raise high complications in the child right from the birth. The risks involve low birth rate, miscarriage, neonatal death and preterm delivery. Long term effects in children are SIDS, behavioral and learning disorders, attention deficit disorders and disruptive behavior.
Remember that smoking not only kills you, but also of others, including your children. Do not take it lightly. Quit cigarette and start living happily.
